  • Adios Xanga!

It's a done deal - I have moved to Blogger!!  You can now find me at:

    http://wowwhatalife16.blogspot.com/

If you plan on taking the plunge as well, please either leave a comment on this post or write a final post on xanga with your new Blogger URL.

OH - and Blogger can be imported into Facebook as well!  It's easy - here's how:
    1. Go to your Facebook Profile
    2. Click on "Settings" (located right below the "Share" button for the "What's on Your Mind" field.
    3. Click on the icon under "Imported Sites" that says "Blog/RSS"
    4. Add the URL to your Blogger page  (i.e. mine is http://wowwhatalife16.blogspot.com/)
Easy as that!  You probably won't see anything for a full day, but they will start showing up in your Notes application.

Xanga - may you rest in peace - you were fun while you lasted.

  • What do you think...mass exodus out of Xangaland?

What do you think about ALL of us just making a mass exodus out of Xanga into Blogger?  I know we've been here on Xanga for years now...but we're all just kind of hanging on for perhaps those 5 or so friends who still use it too, right?  That's my ONLY reason for hanging on as long as I have.  I don't want to loose contact with any of you, and for some of you, Xanga is currently the only way we keep in touch.

So what if we ALL just moved over together?  Here are some of my reasonings:
    1. Xanga is OLD and outdated.
    2. Blogger is classier, and much more wide-spread.
    3. Most of our Teen Mania friends have already moved over to Blogger.
    4. Some of you already have your feet in both worlds!
    5. If we all go together, then that takes care of the one and only reason we're stuck in Xanga!!
Anyone game?  If so - PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT!!  I will gladly organize the exodus so no one gets forgotten...

  • Pilates - I'm a fan!

I'm a wimp - a coward at times - and I have a low tolerance for pain.  Not a good combination when you're trying to loose stubborn flab.

But I took a pilates class at the gym last night, and it was JUST what I needed.  A trainer who had no mercy, gave me individualized attention when I needed it and she looks AMAZING, so I know she practices what she preaches!

I've been "too busy" to work out for 3 months now, and my body is showing it.  It's time to get back in gear and reach those goals that I set for myself way back.

    I am determined.

  • Thanks for the well wishes & prayers....I'm feeling much better.  That spell was NASTY and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

So I'm thinking we have about 6" of snow on the ground - it's absolutely beautiful!  We haven't seen snow like this since before we moved to Texas 8 years ago.  I know all of you northerners reading this might be thinking - you sissy, 6" is nothing!  I know, I know - my family lives in upstate NY - 6" to them is a "light dusting."    I'm still excited and giddy like a little girl though. Hopefully sometime today I'll be able to break free from work and go sledding w/ the kids.

In other news, the big family topic as of late is trying to figure out what to do with Granny now that Pa-Paw is gone.  She is lost without him - he has been her life-long companion for 60-ish years.  I was thinking about that as they closed the casket for the last time.  Imagine after living with your best friend for 60 years and watching them close the casket.  That is the last time you will ever see the face of that person for rest of your lifetime.  What a sobering moment.  My heart broke for Granny, because even though she will see him again, she still has to face each morning knowing that Pa-Paw won't be there to greet her.  She kind of walks around with an empty, hollow stare...it is heart wrenching.  We're hoping to get her into an assisted living home - where she can have her own apartment and independence, but only a step away from medical attention if needed.  She really shouldn't be living alone.  And we're almost worried that rouge family members will come in and try to take advantage of her.  (With her cars and finances).  Please pray for Joel's mom and her siblings as they try to come up with a reasonable solution.

Anyways, I better get off here and get to work - lots to catch up on after our trip "down home."  Wishing you a happy Monday everyone...
